This Privacy Notice describes how Genesis Alternative Strategies LLC and its registered representatives (together, “GAS,” “we,” or “us”) collect, use, safeguard, and disclose non-public personal information in the course of our business.
Security and confidentiality
Safeguarding the confidentiality and security of the information entrusted to us is fundamental to our business. We do not sell information about our clients to any party. Access to non-public personal information is limited to those representatives and employees who require it in order to provide products or services to you. We further maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect such information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. This Notice describes how we handle the financial information we collect in the conduct of our business.
Information we collect and share
We collect information about you, such as your entity formation documents, through our discussions with you and through documents you deliver to us in the course of our engagement. We use this information to provide and administer the services you have requested. In doing so, we may share it with firms that assist us in delivering those services and that have a legitimate need for it, in each case as permitted by law. We may also disclose such information to FINRA, the Securities & Exchange Commission, the State of Florida, and other regulatory authorities having jurisdiction over our activities.
Your right to opt out

State laws
A number of states have enacted privacy laws and regulations affording their residents additional protections. Our privacy practices are designed to comply with all applicable laws. Where a state’s privacy laws impose requirements more stringent than those described in this Notice, we will comply with those requirements.
Privacy notice for California residents
The California Consumer Privacy Act Notice supplements this Notice and applies to residents of California. It addresses the information we collect and the activities we conduct that are subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the “CCPA”). Anti-money laundering procedures
To assist the government in combating the funding of terrorism and money laundering, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information identifying each person or entity that opens an account. Accordingly, when you engage our firm, we will request information and documentation sufficient to identify your company.
Preparedness and business continuity plan
GAS maintains a Business Continuity Plan governing our response to events that materially disrupt our business. Because the timing and severity of such events cannot be predicted, the plan is designed to be flexible and will be adapted to the circumstances of the actual event. A summary of the plan is set out below.

Our plan provides for the prompt recovery and resumption of business operations following a significant business disruption, including by safeguarding our employees and property, conducting a financial and operational assessment, protecting the firm’s books and records, and enabling our clients to transact business. The plan is designed to permit the firm to resume operations as promptly as practicable, having regard to the scope and severity of the disruption.
